# The Smurfs: A History of Supporting Good Causes

The Smurfs have a long history of encouraging respect for the environment and promoting social responsibility. Some examples include:

* Global Ambassadors for the United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development goals since 2015
* A leading partner of the EUBeachCleanup program that gathered over 100 million participants worldwide
* Supporters and sponsors of many good causes over the years: Think Pink, FireSafe, UNICEF, International Day of Happiness, Android 34, Cap 48, and more

The Smurfs’ Society will continue this tradition of leveraging the Smurfs' brand for positive change. We are committed to contributing a large percentage of proceeds from NFT sales to non-profit organizations focused on the environment and sustainability.

Additionally, we’re building a whole system of decentralized governance (DAO) to fund, encourage, and develop positive, sustainable initiatives in a way that has never been implemented before: by harnessing the power of collective intelligence.

Stay tuned for our Whitepaper in which we'll unveil information about our DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) and how we're making a positive impact on the environment!

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://wiki.thesmurfssociety.com/the-smurfs-society/general-information/about-us/the-smurfs-a-history-of-supporting-good-causes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
